In this workshop we will spend a glorious day talking, thinking and creating art.
How do artists capture a moment in time? Why/How do artists use everyday objects in their artwork? In this fascinating day-long workshop teachers will consider the Artist as Storyteller. The workshop will begin with looking at a number of artworks. Teachers will learn how to form observation questions and evidence based inference questions. We will look at the role of information, writing and brainstorming activities and then move on to creating art-making activities to support the learning. Barb will lead the participants through two art-making activities based on our themes. Participants will use objects or ‘sets’ found at ArtsJunktion to create their works. *A camera will be useful for one of the activities.
Barb Bottle is excited to share with teachers what she learned this summer at the Connecting Collections institute in New York, put on by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the MOMA, and the Guggenheim museum.
